“A Radio for the Heart”: How Wysa helped a migrant factory worker find quiet in restless nights

Ramesh is a quiet, hardworking factory worker in his late twenties, living far from home in the crowded, unyielding sprawl of Delhi NCR. A migrant in the city, Ramesh has faced relentless loneliness and struggles with insomnia, often lying awake in the heat and noise of his room, his mind restless. Known by many as “goonga” (speech impaired) for his reserved nature, Ramesh has learned to keep his thoughts and emotions locked away, enduring long days without a chance to voice his struggles.
As part of a workplace initiative, Ramesh registered for Wysa. The app’s gentle sleep stories - designed to comfort and soothe - have become a balm for his sleepless nights. Ramesh calls them “mann ka radio” (a radio for the heart), akin to the comforting tales he’d heard as a child. For the first time in years, Ramesh has been able to get restful sleep for 15 nights in a row, filling him with a new sense of hope.
Upon waking up, Wysa does a “Good Morning” check-in through its simple yet heartfelt messages, that have become another anchor in his day. This has brought Ramesh a sense of connection and warmth, giving him a reason to feel acknowledged in a city that often felt indifferent. With Wysa, Ramesh discovered that even small moments of care and routine could break through his isolation, lifting the weight of loneliness he’d carried for so long, encouraging him to build small interactions with those around him.
